Clark, Clarence Robert

Clarence R. (Gabby) Clark, 84, of Mountainside Drive in Narrows, departed this life Thursday morning, May 10, 2012, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Giles County March 14, 1928, he was a son of the late William Riley and Ada Anna Robertson Clark. He was a member of Bethel Chapel in Clendennin and was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant with 45 years service and was a veteran of the United States Army, World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, best friend, and fishing buddy, Charlene (Sally) Clark, of the home; his sister, Virginia C. Robertson, of the Lurich Community at Narrows; a special and devoted nephew, Darrell Akers; several other beloved nieces and nephews; and his church family at Bethel Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, in Bethel Chapel at Clendennin with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornsprings Cemetery at Pulaski.
