Clappes, Alice Juanita Ivy

Alice Juanita Ivy Clappes, 65, of Pearisburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.

Mrs. Clappes was born on January 8, 1942 in Sarah, Miss. and was a daughter of the late James W. Ivy, Sr. and Pauline Mosby Ivy. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Mrs. Clappes is a member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband George F. Clappes, Sr. of Pearisburg; one son, George Foster and wife, Anne, Clappes, Jr. of Dublin; two daughters, Pamela June and husband, Chris McNeer, of Pearisburg and Tammi C. and husband, Jerry W. Sexton, of Rich Creek; one sister, Georgia Claire Ivy Caffey of Independence, Miss. and three grandchildren, Brooke McNeer, Hunter McNeer and Tiffany Sexton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 2 p.m. with Jamie Hyden officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
