Christian, Russell Elwood

Russell Elwood Christian, age 75, formerly of Peterstown, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Lincolnton, NC. Born June 3, 1947, in Monroe County, WV, he was the son of the late Dewey Elwood Christian and Dorothy Day Christian Knuckles.

Russell was a devout Christian and a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as an automotive mechanic and enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife and the mother of his children, Linda Christian; one son, Sean Russell Christian; one grandson, Anthony Ludwig; daughter in law, Dana Christian; and several siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Faye Sisler Christian of North Tazewell, VA; children, Rochelle Fox and husband Bruce, Eddie Christian and wife Diana, Greg Christian, and Jonathan Christian and wife Cassandra; bonus children, Wendy and Jimmy; grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlin, Zachary, Blayne, McKenzie, Austin, Mayleigh, and Zayden; several great grandchildren; and several siblings, extended family members, and many friends.

A visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV. In keeping with Russell’s wishes, he will be cremated following the visitation.
