Jeanie Ford Christian, 64, departed this life at home surrounded by friends and family after a long illness. She was born in Pocahontas, Virginia on December 27, 1942 to the late Samuel and Bessie Miller Ford.

Jeanie was a long time member of Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church serving as church clerk secretary and member of SMBC Gospel Chorus. She was also a member of Christiansburg Ruritan club, Asbury United Methodist Church Bible Study Group, and the NAACP. She retired in 2003 for Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

Those left to cherish her memory her loving husband James “Bubby” Christian of Christiansburg, Virginia; three daughters, Jamey Christian, Christiansburg, Va.; Karon Jackson, Radford, Va.; Vanessa Jackson, Austin, Texas; one son, Steven (Cyndi) Jackson, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Roxie (Allen) Palmer, Deborah (Eugene) Pearson; two brothers, Ronald (Ira) Ford, Austin, Texas; David (Kim) Ford, Christiansburg, Va.; two grandsons, Anthony and Joshua Jackson, Austin, Texas; niece, Angela (Rudy) Palmer-Banks; nephews, Aaron (Lidia) Palmer and Dwan L. Ford; special beloved cousins, Virginia F. Simon; Katherine F. Hopkins, Delores D. Carter, Louise C. Webb, Roanoke, Va., and Faith T. Christian of Blacksburg, Va., and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends, Diane and Tony Ferguson.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service at Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Lee Suggs officiating. Burial will be at the Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery
