Christian, Faith Therriffa
Faith Therriffa Christian, 63, of Blacksburg, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 2, 2011. The angel ascended with a card in hand, hearing the name of my mother, our sister, our aunt, our cousin and our friend; Faith Theriffa Christian. Faith was born on January 26, 1948, the daughter of Richard and Pauline Christian in Blacksburg. At an early age, Faith (Faye as we so affectionately called her) professed Christ as her personal Savior. She joined First Baptist Church of Blacksburg where she was a faithful and active member until her health declined. The greatest joy of her life was her loving and devoted son Anthony, his wife Michelle, and grandchildren, Micah and Sidney. She was proud to be an alumni of Christiansburg Institute. Faye will be remembered for her loving smile and her willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Pauline Christian; sister, Peggie H. Rose; and sister-in-law, Jeanie F. Christian. Those rejoicing in her memory are her devoted son Anthony (Michelle) Christian; two grandchildren, Micah and Sydney Christian, all of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Sylvia Louise Webb of Roanoke; brother, James W. Christian of Christiansburg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; devoted members of First Baptist of Blacksburg; special friends Aldora Green, Alexis Johnson, Agnes Dobbins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. P.L. Barrett and Rev. Robert P. Jones officating. Interment will follow in the Blacksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home.
