chrisman_james_crockettJames Crockett Chrisman, 87, of Radford, Va., passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Radford Nursing & Rehab. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II and retired Postal Carrier with 35 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Anne Peterson Chrisman, of Radford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Anne Chrisman, of Radford, and David and Jennifer Chrisman, of Sandston; five grandchildren, the Rev. Timothy Chrisman, Dr. Micah Chrisman, Taylor Chrisman, Preston Chrisman and Parker Chrisman; two greatgrandchildren, Kaylee and Emily Chrisman; two sisters in-law, Martha Ward and Louise Osborne, both of Dublin; and a brother-in-law, Bill Peterson, of Dublin.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane and the Rev. Kent Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, November 11, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, Va. 24141 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Blue Ridge Chapter, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24003.
