Chrisley, Chloe Osborne
Chloe Verna Osborne Chrisley, 93, of Barren Springs, Va., passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at her home. She was born in Appomattox, Va. on September 12, 1917 the daughter of the late Wiley Winton Osborne and Betty Lee Tetter Osborne.
She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She was a substitute teacher at Patterson Elementary School, worked part time at Barren Springs Post Office, was a fund raiser for the Barren Springs Fire Department in its early years, and a clerk/bookkeeper at Shop-Eez.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy Leon Chrisley, a daughter, Nancy Carroll Davis, a brother, Harold Campbell Osborne, and a sister, Hilah Osborne Ferguson. Surviving are a daughter, Anita Jean Anderson and husband, Bernard of Hiwassee, Va.; four sons, Wiley Leon Chrisley and wife, Geraldine of Hackettstown, N.J., David Wilson Chrisley and wife, Frances of Smithfield, Va., Harold Buford Chrisley and wife, Linda of Claytor Lake, Va., Randolph Vernon Chrisley and wife Patricia of Greensboro, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Glenwood United Methodist Church, Barren Springs, Va. with the Rev. April Milligan and the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Glenwood United Methodist Church.
Her 14 grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va.
