Elizabeth (Libby) Cecelia Chisholm, 86, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Altoona, Pa., on April 12, 1921, to the late Hubert George and Margaret Lovelace Schneider. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Chisholm; and a son, Charles Thomas Chisholm.

Libby was a caring, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Libby was outgoing, vivacious, and loved living life to the fullest. She will be truly missed by her survivors.

She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth A. Chisholm, of Roxboro, N.C., Carol F. Chisholm, of Camden, Del., and Margaret and Dan Owen, of Blacksburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Irene Chisholm, of Santa Barbara, Calif., a daughter-in-law, Jo Chisholm, of Blytheville, Ark.; a brother, George Hubert Schneider, of Framingham, Mass.; four grandchildren, Camie Cherry, Jordan Moore, Jennifer Lee Chisholm, and Charles M. Chisholm; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary service will be held Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of Poor Clares, 215 East Los Olivos St., Santa Barbara, Calif., 93105. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
