Childress, Rosie Belle

Rosie Belle Childress, 89, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2007. She was born May 13, 1918 to the late Asa and Mary McAlexander in Patrick County, Va.

Rosie worked at home, remodeling, making quilts and afghans, crocheting, gardening and enjoyed Bluegrass Music. Rosie was a member of the Floyd Primitive Baptist Church.

Rosie is survived by her sons, Lonnie Whitlow, Lawrence Whitlow and wife, Barbara and Willard Whitlow and wife, Wanda; daughter, Peggy Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Juan Barr officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
