Carl Davis Chandler Sr., of Dublin, Va., went to be with his Lord on March 30, 2010. Born in Ashland, W.Va., on March 19, 1913, he was a twin son of the late Robert and Gussie Chandler who resided on Little Walkers Creek in Pulaski County. He was a member of the Dublin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ralph Chandler and wife Mable; brother, John Chandler and wife, Wilma; sister, Ada King and husband, Morris; and half brother, James Chandler. Surviving are his wife, Ola Faw Chandler; half sister, Reba Crawford, of Pulaski, Va.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Rumley, of Hickory, N.C., and Vera Faw, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sons, Carl Chandler Jr. and wife, Helen, of Dublin, Va., Damon Chandler and wife, Cathy, of Glenco, Ala., and Robert Chandler and wife, Annette, of Tazewell, Va.; grandchildren, Laurie Moye and husband, Randy, of Kernersville, N.C., Brian Chandler and wife, Jan, of New Kent, Va., Logan Chandler and sister, Laura Chandler, of Glenco, Ala., Rob Chandler and wife, Kayla, of Tazewell, Va., and John Chandler, of Tazewell, Va.; stepgrandchildren, Jamie Ousley, of Miami, Fla., Jennifer Manning, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Karen Newsome, of Troy, N.Y.; greatgrandchildren, Davis Chandler, of New Kent, Va., Jessica Moye and brother, Christopher, of Kernersville, N.C., and Kaylem Chandler, of Tazewell, Va.; nieces, Ezma Lea Stevens, of Little Walkers Creek, Lois Ott, of Centralia, Ill., Janice Agee, of Roanoke, Va., Diane Delbridge, of Richmond, Va., Brenda Holcomb, of Hickory, N.C., Betty Thornburg, of Hickory, N.C., Doris Bond, of Salem, Va., Linda Whitlock, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and nephews, Scott Chandler, of Dublin, Va., Arnold Davis, of Little Walkers Creek, Va., and Jimmy Rumley, of Hickory, N.C. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Dublin Baptist Church with visitation occurring from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the Thornspring Cemetery with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting Military Graveside Rites.
