Chaffin, Ashley Renee St.Clair

Ashley Rene St.Clair Chaffin, 23, of Floyd, Va., departed her life on Sunday, May 3, 2009, to go home to be with her Lord. A Floyd County woman died Sunday after she lost control of her car and flipped twice on state Route 653 in Floyd County, state police said.

She was a loving and caring mother. Her daughter, Lacey, was truly the light of her life. Ashley believed in going to Heaven so much that she requested, “When we all get to Heaven” be sung at her wedding. She was a member of Seneca Baptist Church.

Ashley is survived by her husband and soul mate, Richard Chaffin; daughter, Lacey Rene St.Clair; mother and stepfather, Karen and John Bandy; father and stepmother, Marty and Sarah St.Clair; two sisters, Amy Bandy and Kristin Bandy; two brothers, Nathan Billett and Zachary Billett; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Danny and Kendra Chaffin; sister-in-law, Whittney Chaffin; grandparents, David and Betty Vaught, Al and Shirley Montgomery, Mabel Bandy, and H.T. and Mary Grindstaff; grandparents-in-law, James and Mildred Chaffin, Margaret Chaffin, Eldon and Nancy Turner; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Seneca Baptist Church, Elliston, with the Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seneca Baptist Church, 8572 Roanoke Road, Elliston, Va. 24087.
