Celebration of Life for Robert Schulman

Surrounded by his wife and children, as dusk was falling on April 27, 2021, Robert “Bob” Stephen Schulman, 74, left us for his eternity, after an incredibly brave and all-too-brief six month journey with lung cancer.

A public Celebration of Life for Bob will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Hahn Horticulture Garden Pavilion on the Virginia Tech campus from 2 until 5 p.m. Guests are asked to arrive starting around 2 p.m. and remembrance events will begin around 2:15 p.m. Afterward, guests are invited to share light food and drink and their memories of Bob.

Very limited parking is available near the Pavilion, on Garden Lane. More parking is available in lots near the Food Sciences Building on Washington Street. From those lots, cross Washington Street to find a walking path into the Garden, and on to the Pavilion. A campus parking pass is not needed on weekends. You are welcome to bring and wear a mask.

In you wish to make a donation in his memory, Bob suggested the Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley, Town of Blacksburg’s Department of Parks and Recreation, or a charity of your choice. He also requested that, if you are so inclined, you perform a random act of kindness in his memory.
