Cecil, Robert Anderson

Robert Anderson Cecil, 64, of Christiansburg, died peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2012, at his home. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 16, 1948. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson Cecil, mother, Eva Martin, and grandmother, Roxie Cecil. He worked for Blacksburg Cable TV for 15 years and Radford Army Ammunition Plant for 26 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Cecil; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Mike Hinkley; grandchildren, Haley Shepherd, Jaylin Shepherd, and Michael Hinkley; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Eddie Giles; brothers, Kenneth Jones, Johnny Weadon and Eddie Weadon; many nieces and nephews; special friends, and caregivers, Lisa Ratliff and Kimberly Hall. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mickey White and the Rev. Donna Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 1160 Moose Dr., Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
