Elmer Kyle (Boyd) Cecil, 80, of Pulaski, died Sunday, February 12, 2006.

Born September 1, 1925 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Margaret Lambert Cecil and Kyle Montvale Cecil. Mr. Cecil was a Veteran of W.W.II having served in the U.S. Navy, a member of the V.F.W. Post 1184 where he served as past commander and was very active in the Honor Guard Group for many years, was a member of the American Legion Post #7, was a member of the Draper Valley Memorial Christian Church, and was a retired employee of Allied Chemical Company in Pulaski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother; Daisy Duncan Cecil, a daughter Brenda Cecil Grubb, a granddaughter; Sherry Lynn Grubb: sisters; Mary “Bill” Haggerty, Louise Hall, Amaryrillis Duncan, and a brother, Denny Duncan. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; Marie Quesenberry Cecil: daughter and son-in-law; Sharon C. and Jesse L. Kerns of Pulaski: a son; Kyle Duane Cecil of Pulaski; daughter-in-law; Teresa M. Cecil of Pulaski: sisters: Helen C. Hall of Pulaski, Barbara C. Gregory of Fayetteville, N.C., and Helen D. Saunders of Fayetteville, N.C.: a brother; Elbert Wayne Cecil of Dublin, Va. Also survived by grandchildren: Monique K. Adkins, Jesse K. “Tony” Kerns, Tangela K. Akers, Melissa C. Delph, Lori G. King, Jason S. Grubb, and Jessica K. Cecil, and 9 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, caring friends, and his best friend Cody his beloved Golden Retriever.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens where the V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military honors. Visiting will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
