Cawood, Jenny Lind

Jenny Lind Cawood, 73, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away February 6, 2014, after a short illness. Jenny was born in 1940 in Harlan, Ky. In 1965, she married fellow graduate student, Lynn Chenault, at the University of Louisville, Ky., from where they received their master of social work degrees in 1966.

Jenny’s career spanned 25 years and five states; in 1984, she began work at St. Alban’s Psychiatric Hospital in Radford. In 1986, Jenny’s marriage ended and she moved to Martinsville for a position in social work. She later retired to Abilene, Texas, to join her mother and sister. Alongside her social work career, Jenny was a poet whose works were selected for wide publication in magazines and journals.

She is survived by her loving sister, Dr. Marion Cawood, of Kerrville, Texas; sons, Jim Chenault, of San Antonio, Texas, and Brian Chenault, of The Netherlands, Europe; grandson, Evan Chenault, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter and grandson, Tessa Lynn Chenault and Owen James Chenault; and daughter-in-law, Rose van der Pal Chenault, of The Netherlands.
