Cawley, William Clifford

William Clifford Cawley, 86,of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at home. Born on June 22, 1925, at Rich Creek, Va., he was the son of Lacy and Lucy C. Hale Cawley. Mr. Cawley was a Foreman for the N & W, Virginian and Southern and Pacific Railroads. He was also a United States Army, World War II Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Cawley. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Brown and Lisa C. Cawley, both of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Melissa, Dave and Eve Brown; four grandchildren, Myah, Nathan, Justin and Diamond; one sister, Christine Williams, of Rich Creek, Va.; a special friend, Desiree Friend, of Roanoke, Va.; and one nephew, Richard Williams, of Rich Creek, Va. Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, Va., with Barry Harper officiating and Military Rites by American Legion Posts #68 Narrows, #311 Pembroke, #145 Peterstown Rowe Jones and Narrows VFW Post #6000.
