Cauley Jr., Virgil Brown

Virgil Brown Cauley Jr., 66, of Newport, completed his earthly journey and crossed over to the other side on Thursday, August 2, 2012. He was an Army Veteran, proudly serving his country in Vietnam. He was also a dedicated and beloved science teacher at Blacksburg Middle School for 40 years, devoting his life and time to his students. Brownie was married to Pamela Langhorne Cauley for 43 treasured years, and had one son, Benjamin Kabler Cauley, whom he admired and adored. Ben is married to Casey Martin Cauley, and Brownie was so happy and proud to have her in our family. Many treasured fellow teachers and friends miss you greatly. His parents were Anne Spiggle Cauley and Virgil Brown Cauley. Brownie is also survived by a sister, Betty Cauley, of Lynchburg; special cousins, Anne and Jean; and other loved family members, including sister-in-law, Melinda Burnette and husband, Jim, and their children and grandchildren and brother-in-law, Thomas N. Langhorne and wife, Deidre. An informal memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. We will share memories, tears, but mostly laughter as he would want, and we celebrate his life.
