Caudill-Paul-CalliePaul Callie Caudill, 103, of Narrows and Collinsville, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Martinsville. He was born in Springfield, North Carolina on April 13, 1908 and was the son of the late Trellie and Martha Blevins Caudill. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Marie Crawford Caudill; a sister, Lillie Gamble; and two brothers, Clay and Grant Caudill.

Having served in the United States Army, Paul was the oldest living World War II veteran in Giles County before moving to Henry County in his later years. He was a life member of American Legion Post #68 and an active member of VFW Post #6000 in Narrows. Paul was a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows. A skilled auto mechanic, Paul worked for Dominick Chevrolet in Narrows and Croy Motor Sales in Pearisburg before retiring from Ingram Pontiac in Pearisburg. He was also a courier for the former First Virginia Bank. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Paul will be deeply missed by his family and many friends throughout both Giles County and Henry County.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, David Caudill and wife, Cynthia of Moneta, Alvin Caudill and wife ,Bonnie of Collinsville; four grandsons, David Scott Caudill, Michael Lee Caudill, Anthony Lloyd Caudill, and Timothy Alvin Caudill; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, Post #311 of Pembroke, and Post #145 of Peterstown. The family will receive friends at First Christian Church Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider either American Legion Post # 68 or VFW Post #6000.
