Carter, Melvin J.

The Reverend Melvin J. Carter, 74, of Dublin, answered God’s call to “come up hither” on Monday morning, May 6, 2013. He was born on July 22, 1938.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Peggy Carter; his beloved sister Mevalene Lucas; his children, Robert Carter, Ronnie and Carmella Carter, James Carter, Rhonda Carter, Susan and Billy Duncan, Christiana and Hivera Green; 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford. A celebration of his life will be held at Full Gospel Grace Tabernacle in Pulaski, on Thursday, May 9th at 2pm with Rev. Davy Whitlock, the Rev. Michael Bond, and the Rev. Roger Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery in Dublin.
