Carter, Marshall Dennis

Marshall Dennis Carter, 57, born in Christiansburg on August 5, 1950, and resided in Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the VA Hospital in Salem, Va.

He was the son of the late Leonard and Nannie Carter of Christiansburg. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Armand Blake, of Christianburg; and his siblings, one sister, Shirley (John) Reynolds, of Roanoke; and four brothers, Leonard Carter Jr., of Charlotte, N.C., Earl (Catherine) Carter, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jerry (Susan) Carter, of Richmond, and Harold Carter, of Blacksburg.

A memorial graveside service celebrating Marshall’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Schaeffer Memorial Cemetery in Christiansburg with Pastor Kenneth B. Wright officiating. Arrangements by Penn’s Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
