Carter, Lula Bell Blevins

Lula Bell Blevins Carter, 65, of Dublin, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Utah H. Carter.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Kay and Teddy Porterfield, of Roanoke, and Judy and Curtis Snider, of Dublin; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lynn Carter of Dublin; seven grandchildren, Kendra and Cortney Porterfield, Danielle Carter, Daniel Howard, Tonya McGinnis, and Cody and Chelsey Snider; two great-grandchildren, Kaytlin and Preston; four brothers, Johnny Blevins, of Belspring, Wayne Blevins, of Galax, and Danny and Melvin Douglas Blevins, both of Radford; and two sisters, Blanche Sapp, of Roanoke and Wanda Francisco, of Blacksburg.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
