Carter, Kenneth Wade

Kenneth Wade Carter, age 56, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his home. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on September 27, 1955 to the late Thomas S. and Edith Bott Carter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted friend who would do anything to help others. He is survived by his wife, Irma Carter of Christiansburg; daughter, April Carter and fiance, Joe Lucas of Floyd; son, Jack Carter of Christiansburg; stepfather, Claude Clyburn of Radford; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue and Jack Duty of Blacksburg, Lois Covey of Radford; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Carter, Neil Carter, David Carter, all of Blacksburg, Tommy Carter of Roanoke; grandchild, Bethany Lucas of Floyd; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Pauline Myers; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debra and Leonard Cook, Kathy and Richard Fleet, Shelby Myers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Monica Myers; special friend, Burley Richards; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Fairview Community Church with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellet, Va. The family will receive friends from 6-9:00 pm Friday, March 23, 2012 at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
