Carter, Josephine

Josephine Carter, 95, of Highland Ridge Rehab Center, 5872 Hanks Ave., Dublin, passed away Friday afternoon, November 1, 2013. She was born in Pulaski County on December 18, 1917 and was the daughter of the late John M. Carter and Mattie Bishop Carter.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Katie C. Hash, Virginia C. Mills, Zola C. Sparks and Pearl C. Cregger; and by three brothers, George W. Carter, John O. Carter and Watt M. Carter.

She was retired from the Pulaski Hospital of Randolph Avenue, Pulaski.

Surviving are her nephew and spouse, Randle V. and Ronda S. Cregger of Pulaski; niece and spouse, Annie Mae and Harold J. Edney of Montgomery County; and other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Dr. C.R. Conner and Rev. Richard Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Methodist Church Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Monday morning from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
