Carter, Joseph E.

amem_lake-pier.jpgJoseph E. Carter, 60, of Sandlick, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton. Born May 13, 1946 in Dublin, Va., he was the son of the late William Otis and Pauline Masters Carter.

Mr. Carter worked at Hills, American Block and also as a laborer in the steel mills in Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Charles and George Carter.

Survivors include wife, Sue O?Donell Carter; two daughters, Melissa Hager and husband Alan of Green Valley and Joanna Kendrick and husband Kevin of Montcalm; three grandchildren, Miranda and Brittany Kendrick and Katie Hager; one brother, William Carter of Pulaski, Va. and one sister, Frances Deskins of Union.

Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Friday, April 13, 2007, 1 p.m. at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown with Pastor Verna Seager officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery, Lindside. Pallbearers will be Donald Little, Alan Hager, Garland and Jake O’Donell, Mark Byrd and Jerry Taylor.
