Carter, Joey Duane

Joey Duane Carter, 55, of Blacksburg, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home. He was born in North Carolina, the son of the late Thomas Wayne, Sr. & Bonnie Carter.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was Virginia Tech Hokies fan.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Wayne Carter, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his nephews, Thomas Wayne, III. & Rachel Carter and Mark Anthony Carter; his great nieces, Haley Carter, Hannah Bishop, Brianna Snipes and Natalee Snipes; a dear friend he considered his brother, Tony Thorne; and special friends, Becky Cherry, Becky Ford, Brandon and Stewart.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Elder Chris Faith officiating. Per his wishes, he will be cremated and he will be laid to rest at Angels Rest Cemetery at a later date.
