Robert Gene (Bob) Carroll, 70, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007. He was born in Jonesville, Va. on July 25, 1936, to the late William Elihue and Mary Lee Price Carroll and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Carroll; three brothers, Carl, James and John.

Bob was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was owner and operator of Carroll Electrical and Plumbing Company for over 45 years and a member of the Slusser’s Chapel Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Carroll, of Blacksburg; one daughter, Virginia Carroll and fiance Mike Clark; three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Holly Carroll, Steve and Stephanie Carroll, Dwight and Tina Carroll, all of Blacksburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Jim McDonald, of Clarksville, Tenn., Lois and Gene McPherson, of Sterling Heights, Mich., Dollie and Alvin Nolen, of Pearisburg; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; special friends, Sherman, Sam, Sid and Lisa Smith, Jim Pate, Russell Lugar, and Rador Vaden, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Slusser’s Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Richard Gilbert, the Rev. Rador Vaden and the Rev. Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mrs. Betty Basham-Chairman, 200 Evans Street, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
