Carroll, Dorothy G.

Dorothy G. Carroll, 77, of Shawsville, and formerly of Christiansburg, went to the loving arms of her Father on Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Della R. Gerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harley E. Carroll; and brothers, Malcom and Garland Gerald.

She is survived by her sons, Stanley W. Carroll and wife, Sherry, of Camp Hill, Pa., and Brian L. Carroll and wife, Ruth E.; one granddaughter, Laura, of Shawsville; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. She worked for Electro-Tec Company for a number of years. She loved her family, crocheting, crafts and being around people, never knowing a stranger.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Pastor Tina Cox, Dr. Richard Shepherd and staff and beloved caregivers, Becky Underwood and Kathy Beasley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers, Dorothy had requested that you make contributions to Continuous Care, 150 Starlight Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, June 6, 2008, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
