Patsy Morris Carr, age 78, of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, June 19th, 2019 at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin, VA. Born in Pulaski, VA on June 10th, 1941, she was the 7th of 10 children by Elgene and Annie Morris.

She graduated Dublin High School in 1960 and was a long time employee of Chemical Lime Co. in Kimballton, VA. A resident of the Wilburn Valley community in Pearisburg, she was a member of the Thessalia Methodist Church. For many years, Patsy and her family lived in Ripplemead, VA where she was part of the Extension Homemakers Club. She also loved her friends as part of the Mountain Misfits of the Red Hat Society. She devoted her life to the service of others, and always lifted those up around her. Her family was her life, and greatest source of pride. Well known for her sewing and craft skills, she made everything from wedding dresses to quilts and blankets to crochet caps and gloves for children with cancer. She made countless donations of her work to the Giles County Christian Mission, Project Linus, Samaritan’s Purse, and many others.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Carr, Sr., her parents, Elgene and Annie Morris, four sisters, Mae Anderson, Grace Crane, Janet Shumate, Jean McPeak, and one brother, E.B. Morris. She is survived by three sisters, Mabel King of Pearisburg, June King of Pulaski, Carol and Bob Marble of Anchorage, Alaska, one brother, Larry and Teresa Morris of Radford, one son, Eddie and Linda Carr of Pearisburg, one daughter, Kathy Carr Clark of Roanoke, one grandson, Matthew Clark of Pulaski, and one granddaughter, Marissa and Will Hensley of Pulaski, and special son Mark Clark.

Funeral services will be conducted at Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg, VA at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 22, 2019 with Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, June 21 at Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg.
