Carney, Ruth Dwire

Ruth Dwire Carney, 91, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2007 at Highland Rehab Center in Dublin, VA where she had been a resident for over 26 years.

She was born October 11, 1915 in Fitchburg, MA. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Jesse and Margaret Dwire of Fitchburg, MA and her husband Thomas J. Carney of Fitchburg, MA, two brothers, a sister and a special friend and caregiver, Edna Moles, Pulaski, VA.

Ruth served in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corp during World War II. She leaves to cherish her memory, special friends and caregivers, and Marvin Moles and his family. She had two children Michael and Kathleen and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of Highland Rehab Center, and especially Patricia Hogan and Rachel Talbert.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 18th, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski, Va. Arrangements are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
