Carden, Elizabeth Staton

Elizabeth Staton Carden, 87, of Radford, formerly of Raphine, departed this world on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, to be with her Heavenly Father. Elizabeth was born on December 21, 1925, to the late Brown and Beulah Blackwell Staton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Stanley Carden Jr.; and two brothers, Charlie and Cecil Staton. Elizabeth was a truly captivating woman of Christ who loved church and read her Bible every day that she was able. She sought justice, loved mercy, and walked humbly with her God.

She is survived by her loving sons, Larry and Danny Carden. The family would like to thank Carilion Medical Center for their help for the past seven years, Radford Health and Rehabilitation for their help for the past four years, and New River Valley Hospice for the help and comfort they gave their mother in the last days of her lives. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Kent Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
