Candler, Crystal Renee

Crystal Renee Candler, 35 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord April 27, 2023. Born in Radford, VA on March 5, 1988; she was a daughter of Linda Stephens and Wayne Candler.

She was employed as Director of Child Care at Giles Health and Family Center. Always putting others before herself; Crystal loved teaching and caring for kids. She was a member of Pearisburg First Christian Church. In continuing the gift of life, she was an organ donor and one of her last gifts was to give life to others.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Vernon and Elsie Blankenship, and Robert and Eva Candler; and an aunt, Alma Whittaker.

She is survived by the loves of her life, her children, Ashlyn and Leelyn Nelson, and newborn son, Maddox Dunn; boyfriend, Jason Dunn; mother, Linda Blankenship Stephens of Pearisburg; father, Wayne Candler of Peterstown, WV; brothers, Reggie Stephens, Wayne Dunn (Karissa) of Bozoo, WV, and Jerry Candler (Tegan) of Winston Salem, NC; Uncle Danny Blankenship (Becky); Aunt Mildred French of Christiansburg, VA; Aunt Yolanda Vickers (Jack) of South Carolina; special cousins, Melissa Blankenship Weber (Matt), Hannah Blankenship, Chonita Williams (Chuck), and Andrew Whittaker; and many special friends.

The family wishes to give special thanks to all of the Doctors, nurses and staff of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for all of the loving care they and Crystal have received.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church with Pastors Chuck Williams, Mike Mitchener, and Eddie Kendall officiating. Funeral services will conclude in Birchlawn Memorial Gardens in Pearisburg, VA. The family will receive friends at Pearisburg First United Methodist Church on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. While the family appreciates flowers, contributions may be made in Crystal’s honor to assist in anyway for her children and to assist with medical costs with an account set up in her honor at Celco Credit Union.
