Callahan, Margaret Jennell
Margaret Jennell Callahan, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at her home in Radford, Va. She grew up in Belspring and then moved to Washington, D.C., where she lived for 52 years before moving back to Radford in 2001 after the death of her husband Jesse P. Callahan. She retired from the accounting department of Riggs National Bank after 30 years of service.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank W. and Carrie G. Jennell; a sister, Edith J. Cromer; three brothers, Russell J., Frank W. Jr., and Orville H. Jennell; and a nephew, Ronald W. Cromer.
Survivors include a nephew, Guy E. Cromer Jr., of Pulaski; and numerous other nieces, great-nieces and greatnephews.
The family would like to thank all of Margaret’s special caregivers especially, Cindy and Amanda, for all their loving kindness given to her during her illness. We would also like to thank Dr. Matt Skewes and his staff for the special care given to Margaret.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Joe McCoy officiating. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford.
