Cales, Richard Percy
Richard P. (Pee Wee) Cales, 76, of St. Augustine, Fla., and formerly of Radford, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in St. Augustine.
He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Louise Hinchee Cales.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Ruby Lynn Cales, of St. Augustine, Fla.; devoted father of two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Thomas Quintieri, and Kimberly and Michael Quintieri, both of St. Augustine, Fla.; son, Richard Todd Cales, of Radford; sister, Mary Albert, of Parrott; seven grandchildren, Justin and Kaylen Cales, Matthew, Dominic, Zachary, Anthony and Nicole Quintieri; special sister-in-law, Dorothy Hawley, of Christiansburg; and special cruising pals, Bob and Louise Basham, of Roanoke.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with the Rev. Ersel Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
