Cales, Jennings Mason

Jennings M. Cales, 81, of Riner, passed away peacefully at his home on Fairview Church Road in Montgomery County on this Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. As many celebrated resurrection day, Jennings went to meet his Lord and Savior. He was a lifelong member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Christiansburg. He served in many capacities at his church through the years. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry and was a Korean War veteran serving in the army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie M. Cales; brother, Harvey Ratcliff; sister, Ella Mae Ratcliff; and parents, Frank and Goldie Cales. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Vest officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
