Caldwell, Russell Lee
Russell Lee Caldwell, 63, of Virginia Avenue, Pembroke, departed this life Saturday, June 13, 2015, at his home in the loving care of his family after a short bout with cancer. Born on December 14, 1951, in Covington, VA, he was a son of John Lee Caldwell of New Castle and the late Sylvia Caldwell.
He had been employed at Virginia Lime Co at KImballton and was retired from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Russell was a 1969 graduate of Giles High School in Pearisburg, and was a veteran of the U S Army, Viet Nam Era. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Michael Caldwell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, his devoted and loving wife Sandra “Sandy” Williams Caldwell; his daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Clinton Long of Pearisburg; his brother Jody Caldwell of Elliston; his sisters Sylvia Mae Caldwell of Newport News, Jennetta Preston (Bill) of Christiansburg, and Kathy Crowley (Doug) of Beaufort, SC; his grandchildren Zoey and Charlee Long.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.

Russ it had been almost eight years since you left us. You are missed everyday and especially by Sandy. She loved and still loves you so much. She talks about you all the time and tells all the stories of you and her. She often says it a wonder he didn’t kill me with all the things she worried you about. She is doing ok but then again you know that. Love from all of us and we miss you so much. ❤️
