caldwell_randallRandall (RA) Caldwell, 58, of Blacksburg, died on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on January 25, 1953, to the late Howard Washington and Rheita Price Caldwell. Randy started out with the Blacksburg Gulf Station and worked his entire life in the automobile business and was well known in the area working in the wrecker business with Caldwell’s Garage and later Campus Exxon. He was a member of the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad for over 20 years and a member of the Auburn Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Caldwell, of Blacksburg; a daughter, Kathy Caldwell, of Blacksburg; two sons, Wayne Caldwell and Scotty Caldwell, both of Blacksburg; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Judy Caldwell, of Christiansburg, his twin brother, Ronnie and Patricia Caldwell, of Blacksburg, and Bruce and Vera Caldwell, of McCoy; grandchildren, Tiffany (Tippy Toe) Caldwell, Matthew Caldwell, Dustin Caldwell, and Alexis (Lexi) Caldwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends, Charles (Qpon) and Vicki Turman, and Jennifer Webb. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in the Auburn Baptist Church, 3840 Riner Road, Riner, with the Rev. Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Bonnie Caldwell to help with excessive expenses, 106 Maywood St., Blacksburg, VA 24060. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.
