Caldwell, Norma Smith

Norma Sue Smith Caldwell, age, 80, of Check, VA (formerly of Blacksburg), died, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on October 6, 1941 to the late Pearlie (P.W.) and Easter Alls Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Iven Dail Caldwell; son, Raymond Caldwell; three brothers; three sisters.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Teresa Caldwell, Dail Caldwell, Leon and Terry Caldwell, Andrew and Donna Caldwell, Lary and Bobbie Caldwell, Jason Caldwell; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Tiny Dowdy; brother, Eugene Smith; sister-in-law, Pauline Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Carilion New River Valley Hospice and a special thanks to Dail Caldwell, Philip Caldwell, and Amber Sloan for their care of Mrs. Caldwell.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at McCoy Funeral Home Blacksburg.
