caldwell_delancie_wayneDelancie Wayne Caldwell, 71, of Christiansburg and formerly of Newport departed this life Tuesday evening, April 1, 2014 at his home in the loving care of his family and hospice. Born in Newport on July 6, 1942, he was a son of the late Johnnie Helsabeck and Reba Lake Caldwell. He had been employed as a design engineer at the Volvo Plant in Dublin. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Beulah Ermadean Epling Caldwell, and his brother Ronald Carson Caldwell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son David Wayne Caldwell of Christiansburg; his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Mike Bailey of Madison, Mississippi; his brother Donald M. Caldwell of Newport; his grandchildren Alisha Marie Tanaka of Christiansburg and Devin Forest Bailey of Madison, Mississippi, his cat Miss Lucy Black; His brother-in-law and his wife Eddie and Beulah Ann Epling; his sisters-in-law Barbara E. Whitten and Deanita S. Verbeck and husband Tom; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 noon in The Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Clover Hollow Cemetery at Newport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm. The family sends special thanks to family friend Brenda Williams and Medi Home Health and Hospice workers especially Sherrie Keith, Doris Miles, and Brook Lawson for their care and devotion to Delancie during his illness.
