Beulah Ermadean Caldwell, 68, of Christiansburg, Va., and formerly of Newport, Va., departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. She was born in Omar, W.Va., on February 1, 1942, and raised in the Clover Hollow Community near Newport by her “parents” the late Crockett and Beulah Sarver. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, McDaniel Chapter in Christiansburg, was employed as an RN at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and at Avante in Roanoke, and was preceded in death by a sister, Leah Epling; a brother-in-law, George Witten; and a sisterin-law, Betty H. Caldwell. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Delancie W. Caldwell, of Christiansburg; her son, David W. Caldwell, of Christiansburg; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mike Bailey, of Madison, Miss.; her grandchildren, Alisha Tanaka, of Christiansburg, and Devin Bailey, of Madison, Miss.; her brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Beulah Ann Epling, of Newport; her sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Witten, of Christiansburg, and Deanita and Brigadier General (Ret.) USAF Tom Verbeck, of Burk, Va.; half brothers, Harrold Moore, of California, and Michael Lytle, of West Virginia; her half sisters, Michelle McBride, of West Virginia, and Jennie McChone, of California; and her brotherin-law, Donald Caldwell, of Newport. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Clover Hollow Cemetery at Newport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, November 13, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends after the funeral at the Crockett Sarver Homestead in Clover Hollow.
