Burton, Peanie Swinson

Peanie Swinson Burton, 85, of Blacksburg, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in North Carolina on February 18, 1923 to the late John and Peanie Swinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Knox Burton, and a son, James Burton.

She is survived by her daughter, Janis Bell, of Havertown, Pa.; two sons, John Burton, of Blacksburg, and Thomas Burton, of Wallace, N.C.; a brother, Nick Swinson, of Maple Hill, N.C.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the second and fourth floors at Montgomery Regional Hospital, the staff at Heritage Hall Health Care and Kroontje Health Care Center and the doctors that took care of Mrs. Burton over the last three weeks.
