Burton, Helen Flinchum

Frances Helen Flinchum Burton, 87, of Riner, entered Heaven surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 7, 2017. She was born on September 19, 1929, to the late William David Flinchum and Lilly Florence Meredith Flinchum. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Burton; daughter, Helen Jearlene Burton; son, Harvey Chester Burton; grandson, Hosam Elghannam; sister, Dorothy Flinchum Burton; brother, Gilbert Flinchum; son-in-law, George Ferry.

Helen touched the lives of all who met her with her love and kindness. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Loraine Domir (Subhash), Kathy Ferry, Diana Trump, Jeannie Marshall (Dennis), Helen Elghannam (Andy), Ellen Burton (Delmer Howard); grandchildren, Meera Domir, Jamie Lau (Scott), Marissa Harris (Sam), Shannon Honaker (Robbie), Chris Burton, Brad Burton (Felicia), Jordan Simmons, Casey Hamblin (Jason), Darren Marshall (Elizabeth), Jacob Marshall (Jessica), Isaac Marshall, Somaya Elghannam (Ahmed Elbanna); great-grandchildren, William, Austin, and Harless Burton, Shane Burton, Caitlin and Logan Hamblin, Bryson and Taylor Rasmussen, Reece and Emory Honaker, Brayden Harris, George Marshall, Julian Marsh, Brody Marshall, Rylee Howell, Marshall and Maggie Howard; sister-in-law, Marlene DeLung (Jimmy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gary Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Altizer Cemetery, Chestnut Ridge, Riner, VA.
