Burton, Clara Kathleen Epperly

Clara Kathleen Epperly Burton, 83, of Radford, Va., died on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Radford Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on January 24, 1927, to the late Pate J. and Hope C. Kirtner Epperly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orville E. Burton; a daughter, Phyllis Jean Burton; and two sons, Roy Dexter Burton and French Dale Burton. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Darlene Burton, of Pilot; granddaughter and husband, Stephanie and Mike Marion, of Floyd; one great-grandson, Cass Marion, of Floyd; special friends, Walter and Ann Stultz; and many cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the members of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church for their constant support; the many cousins, neighbors and friends who visited and sent cards; and to the staff at Radford Nursing and Rehab present and past for the great care and being like family. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery, however, due to the weather, graveside services for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, c/o Vivian Dickerson, 3850 Morning Glory Drive, Radford, Va. 24141 or to a charity of your choice.
