Rita May Burroughs, 96, of Christiansburg, Va., and Syracuse, N.Y., passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Burroughs Jr. She is survived by her son, Fred C. Burroughs III; daughter-in-law, Jo Burroughs; grandchildren, Rick Burroughs and wife, Erin, Nick Burroughs, and Mike Burroughs; great- grandson, Tate Ebel; and brother-in-law, Jack Burroughs, of Avon Park, Fla. Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 600 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, Va.
