Richard Allen Burleson, 65, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his home in Washington, D.C.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Northwest Airlines after 43 years as a reservation agent. He was born February 19, 1941, the son of the late Ted Wade and Frances Shell Burleson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Jerry and Wade Burleson.

Survivors include his sister, Helen Yost and her daughter, Cherie, both of Radford; a sister-in-law, Oneda Burleson of Blacksburg; nephews, Bobby and John Burleson, both of Christiansburg; nieces, Deborah Burleson of Palmyra and Diane Sherrick of Grandy, N.C.; and great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Taylor, Sarah, Aaron and Jesse.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Ric Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
