Burks, Peggy Thomas

Peggy Ann Thomas Burks, age 57, of Blacksburg died Friday, October 10, 2014, at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on October 26, 1956 to the late James Alexander Freeman and Betty Ann Thomas and was also preceded in death by a brother. She was retired from ATK.

She is survived by her sons, Devay Burks, Ronald (Ron) Burks both of Blacksburg, and Byron (BJ) Burks of Christiansburg; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 5 grandchildren; 2 aunts; 3 uncles; 1 niece; and 3 nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Greater Mt. Zion United Holiness Church, 385 Depot St., NE, Christiansburg, with the Bishop Anthony Tucker and Elder David Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Schaffer Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:00 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
