Buford, Michael Deon

Michael Deon Buford, 49, of Radford, Virginia, departed this life on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

He was born December 27, 1958 in New Haven, Conn. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Radford, Virginia. He was employed by Goodyear Tire Company, Radford, Virginia. He attended Pulaski County Public Schools.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Joyce Ann Buford, of Radford, Virginia; stepdaughter, Nicky Hendricks-Holman, Long Island, N.Y.; daughter, Niketa Deshea Buford, Radford, Va.; granddaughter and grandson, Makala and Gavin Holman, Long Island, N.Y.; parents, John and Irene Hendricks, Pulaski, Va.; three sisters, Sharon Lewis, Tracy Hendricks, of Pulaski, Va., and Shannon Carter of New River, Va.; two brothers, Clarence Carter, Jr. of North Carolina, and Perry Carter of New Jersey; special friend, Vonda Bruce, Pulaski, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Rock Road, Radford, Virginia, with the Reverend Eric T. Ramey officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, February 8, 2008 from 12 noon until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Virginia. Penn’s Funeral Homes in Charge of arrangements.
