Buckland, Howard Edward

Howard Edward Buckland, 78, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at the Pulaski Health Care Center. Born June 24, 1930, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Luther Lee Ray Curtis Buckland and Effie Lee Howell Buckland. Two brothers, Harold Buckland and Jimmy Buckland, also preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was retired from RAAP with over 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Lea Buckland, of Dublin; children, Douglas Buckland, Curtis Buckland, Dorothy Damron, Rhonda Myers, Donna Gravley, Daniel Buckland, Linda Buckland and Darren Buckland; stepdaughters, Tammy Campbell and Susan Tower; 18 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and brother, Marcus Buckland, of Madison, Va. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Troy Mays officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunrise Burial Park, Fairlawn with full Military Honors conducted by the Pulaski VFW Post #1184.
