Donna Faye Gravely Buchannon of Christiansburg passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. Donna was a woman who spent a lifetime leaving her mark on the world.

She was born October 3, 1946 in Christiansburg, VA. She was one of ten children born to the late William and Marie “Bessie” Elizabeth Gravely. She spent her childhood playing softball, listening to music and taking care of her brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind six siblings, Anna Mae Pack, Betty Jo Gravely, Phyllis Robinson, William Gravely, Jr., Jerry Gravely and Loretta Watts and is preceded in death by her three siblings, Glenda Dobbins, Larry Gravely and Charles Gravely. In 1970 at 24 years old, Donna met and married Ervin Buchannon. They were married for more than 50 years until his passing February 2021.

She is survived by her seven children, Maurice, Renee, Anthony, Ervin Jr., Dammond, La’Donna, and Lachina and will be greatly missed by her 26 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donna was known for her giving nature and deep sense of hospitality. There was always a seat at her table. She loved shopping, dancing, listening to music, watching her favorite television shows, attending church, cooking and spending time with her friends and family. To know her was to know that she was kind, funny and showed up. Donna took her roles as “Nana” very seriously and never missed a play, concert, sporting event or graduation. She was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone she left behind.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 2:00PM at The Blue Ridge Church, Christiansburg with Pastor Larry Carter delivering the message and Pastor Buster Bishop presiding.
