bryant william dalmusWilliam Dalmus (Bill) Bryant, 83, of Roanoke, formerly of Pilot, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. He was born May 3, 1928, to the late Newell K. Bryant and Rebecca Eanes Bryant. Mr. Bryant was retired from J. M. Turner and Son Construction Company. He was a member of Clearbrook Baptist Church in Roanoke. Bill was an avid gardener and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with others. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanna B. Bryant; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Bob Martin, Salem, Deborah and Nelson Simpkins, Christiansburg, Elaine and Bobby Roberson, Washington, N.C.; stepson, Cecil Blankenship and wife, Linda, of Troutville; two sisters, Georgi McKee, Punta Gorda, Fla. and Wilma Dunn, New Castle; grandchildren, Melony Webster (Chuck), Pelham, Ala., Emily Richey (Neil), Marietta, Ga., Amy Rasor (Jeremy), Christiansburg, Nelson Simpkins, II (Sopa), Bangkok, Thailand, Bryan Clower (Allison), Ballston Lake, N.Y., Jessica Foster, Roanoke, and Amanda Dillard (Jamie), Fincastle; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Clearbrook Baptist Church in Roanoke, with Pastor Red English and Pastor Bryan Ratliff officiating. The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. that Friday at Belmont Cemetery, Christiansburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, as well as at Clearbrook Baptist Church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
