Kathleen Cable Bryant, 78, of Pulaski, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Pulaski Community Hospital. Born December 12, 1927 in McClure, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ben Harrison and Ida Cable. Two brothers, Elmer and Berlin Cable and two sisters, Zella Adkins and Wilma Bladh also preceded her in death.

She was a past employee of the former Hercules Plant in Pulaski. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Pulaski for 35 years. She taught children’s Sunday school and played the piano for the children. She was a band mom, a Girl Scout leader, a bird watcher, a cat lover and loved to sing and play the piano. Mrs. Bryant was a member of the Radford Turning Q’s Square Dance Club and a charter member of the Ballroom Dance Club at the New River Community College. She loved Claytor Lake where she and her husband were long time residents.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, John Everett Bryant of Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Carl E. and Deborah Bryant of Pulaski; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra B. and Jimmy Smith of Draper; grandchildren, Madison Smith and Trey Smith of Draper; stepgrandchildren, April Gilbert of Anderson, S.C., Angie Miller of Pulaski; stepgreat-grandson, Gabe Davidson of Pulaski; brother-in-law, Asa Adkins of Pulaski; sisters-in-law, Cleo Roupe and husband, Claude of Laurel Springs, N.C., Mildred Cable of Pulaski; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Pastor David Lones officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski. A special thanks from the family goes to Dr. Donald Yoder and the PCH nursing staff in the ICU unit and her caregivers, Betty and Almeta Jones for their loving care.
